In the meeting held at the
National Hotel, the Vietnamese leader told Alarcon that the
conversations he has held so far with Cuban authorities have
been very useful. He congratulated the Cuban people for their
achievements in their building of socialism and noted that his
country will be always supportive of the island.
Nguyen Minh Triet passed on a
greeting message from the president of the Vietnamese parliament
to Alarcon and an official invitation to visit the Asian
country, which Alarcon accepted and added that it is an honor
for him to travel to the homeland of Ho Chi Minh.
Also in the National Hotel, the
Vietnamese president met with Cuban Vice-President of the
Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas. The two leaders
inaugurated a bilateral business forum and presided over the
signing ceremony of important legal agreements between the two
governments.
On behalf of the Vietnam’s party,
government and people, Minh Triet officially delivered to
Cabrisas a donation for the country consisting on 3,000 tons of
rice, 500 TV sets, 500 computers, 8,000 notebooks and 600 pairs
of shoes and sandals.
