Regime Resorting to Death Squads
HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 4 (acn)
Leaders of the National Front against the Coup in Honduras denounced
that the de facto regime led by Roberto Micheletti is resorting to
death squads to wage a dirty war.

Activist Rafael Alegria said that
paramilitary groups are reorganizing Battalion 3-16 of the death
squads, which in the 1980s were responsible for the forced
disappearance of many people, in a dirty war operation called
‘Operacion Tundra’ ( Tundra Operation), Granma newspaper reports on
Tuesday.
Eulogio Chavez, a leader of the
Honduran resistance, read a declaration before more than 2,000
demonstrators against the coup on Monday holding Micheletti and
Romeo Vasquez, head of the Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff,
responsible for the plan.
